My interpretation is it is due to the breaking condition of the while loop. Istead of comparing double value as DOUBLE_VAL != 0, use the format
fabs(DOUBLE_VAL) > 1e-9.

I heard from some where that it will be Hawaii.

The logic in that post was, it is two years in North America and Two years Outside North America.

Although I am not sure how s/he came up with Hawaii.

Anyway, it will be declared pretty soon.

The main problem with your method is you changed the requirement of the problems.

You can't sort the numbers, their initial order must be preserved. Only then you could add adjacent elements.

If you have the book Discrete Maths by Rosen, you can consult it.
You will find the algorithm there.

You better send an email to them to ask why they think you was cheating. Most brobably they think you collaborated with somebody else. Right now, I am logged into the India Google CodeJam arena, it seems that some other people also suffered. Sadly, the admin there isn't responding to any queries, a...

If they mind to this, shouldn't they make it clear some where, Coders should not log in from same PC.

No such mentioning was made anywhere.

Actually if you feel that judge data for certain problem should be changed, you have to directly mail to them. The address is problemset@uva.es.

So for this problem, you have to send a new input and answer file as well as problem description with necessary changes made.

The tags are somehow misleading. If someone asks for help more than 100 times without giving any help to others s/he will still be referred to as "A great Helper".

StatujaLeha,

I tried a similar approach and it too got TLE. Then I made a sample with 16 trees and my method took 3 seconds to get the solution. So 4 cases like this is enough to cause TLE in OJ.

You have to use the methods described earlier.

I think it is due to the options you set during registration. In one of the options, you were required to specify how you want online judge to receive your code. If you set it to the "email address" instead of "from any host I may use", you could get this error. Try changing the options. If you have...

Ok man, now you are talking.
So, I guess the solution is DP, right?

I submitted your code as C++ and it did not get compile error.
But it got compile error using the C option.
Perhaps this is the problem.

Code: Select all

Two changes are required to get AC.

Code: Select all

printf("%.8f %.8f",V,volume);
There should be a newline after each case of output.

Also, change all data types to double.
