I participated in the Coimbatore site and I too observed few irregularities. As mentioned previously, the site had poor problem description. But the most funny thing is the way they do the judging. In the practice contest, there was a problem of printing all possible path. But nothing was mentioned ...

Before I started my University, I was a humble programmer. I just read a book on BASIC and PASCAL and did a lot of programming in these languages, most were limited to silly simulation. After getting into Uni., I learned C/C++ and started to solve some ACM problems at the end of my 2nd Semesters and...

I have read the description of mf's algorithm and understand how his example works. But I still don't get how it resolves the issue of partitions like ... ()..()..() (). From what I understand, whenever an interval is divided in two, one should consider whether it is possible to just append the last...

Actually EOF has a problem. If the input file contains extra characters at the end which are escape characters, it may happen that EOF is never reached and no integer is read either. In such cases, the Program will not finish in Time and get TLE. I remember, I had this problem once and on looking at...

No, this will give u WA.

Suppose the answer is:

Code: Select all

you output:

Code: Select all

That means your answer for 1 would be compared as 123, which is different and it will give you WA.

You assume that you are taking input from file. That is, use the standard input and output routines like scanf(), printf(). To read until EOF, for prob 100, use: while ( scanf("%d %d",&a,&b) == 2 ) { // do something. } == 2, indicates that you are expecting two input for scanf(). If EOF file is reac...

I remember reading somewhere that Judges of any ICPC site have to write at least one C/C++ and Java Solution for every problem and not necessarily in PASCAL.
So, in a way the Language is already rejected.
